Manufacturing Machines Maintenance Staff Automation Engineer

Job description:

Main task of person on that position would be responsible for the proactive and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated systems and machinery. Key duties: implementing control systems, maintaining hardware and software, resolving malfunctions, performing root cause analysis, ensuring safety compliance, and providing technical support and training to other staff. The role requires strong technical skills in areas like PLC programming, SCADA systems, and robotics, along with the ability to integrate IT and OT systems and manage projects related to automation.

Main tasks:

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, robotics, and production lines.

Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment faults.

Ensure equipment availability and uptime through fast response to breakdowns and troubleshooting issues.

Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records of all performed work.

 Equipment Reliability & Optimization:

Analyze equipment performance and implement improvements to reduce downtime and extend machine life.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to upgrade or retrofit existing equipment for improved efficiency.

Develop, test, and implement automation control systems (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA).

Monitor and improve system performance through automation tuning and optimization.

Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support process improvements through automation

Technical Support:

Provide on-the-ground technical support to maintenance technicians and production teams.

Analyze data from sensors and control systems to predict failures and improve maintenance scheduling.

 Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.

Conduct safety audits and risk assessments for machines and maintenance procedures.

Project Involvement:

Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Support capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Support machine integration and upgrades involving sensors, actuators, and control systems.

Skills:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have:

·         Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.

·         SEP G1 D/E, G2 D, G3 D certificates

LANGUEAGES:

·         Communicative polish language.

·         Communicative English knowledge.

EXPERIENCE:

·         3–5 years of experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing environment.

·         Experience with CNC machines, conveyors, robotics, or other industry-specific machinery

·         Hands-on experience with:

•         PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, FANUC etc.)

•         Electrical schematics and troubleshooting tools

•         Robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA) – a plus

•         Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

·         Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermography, etc.) is a plus.

·         Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

·         Good communication and teamwork abilities.

·         Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).

·         Familiarity with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

·         Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

·         Experience and knowledge in corrective, preventive and predictive equipment maintenance.

·         Experience in maintenance processes optimization projects. 

 

Nice to have:

·         Experience within MedTech, pharma, food or any highly regulated environment based on GMP (good Manufacturing Practices) standards.

·         Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and procedures linked with process validations (SPC, MSA, GageR&R etc.)
