The Manufacturing Line Leader is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and quality-focused operation of chocolates production lines at Cadbury Shah Alam’s Shah Alam Plant. This role ensures the achievement of daily production targets i.e. Global Efficiency (GE), adherence to food safety standards, and effective leadership of production teams to deliver world-class confectionery products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Oversight:
- Manage end-to-end operations of assigned production lines (e.g., chocolate molding, packaging) to meet volume, quality, and waste reduction targets.
- Monitor line performance metrics (production efficiency, meantime between failures, losses, operation costs, lost time accidents, quality, & team engagements) and implement real-time adjustments to optimize efficiency.
- Coordinate smooth product changeovers and ensure adherence to production schedules.
2. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of operators to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Conduct daily briefings, delegate tasks, and ensure effective communication across shifts.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Perform rigorous quality checks to ensure products meet Cadbury Shah Alam’s specifications (e.g., weight, packaging integrity).
- Address deviations promptly and collaborate with Quality Assurance to implement corrective actions.
- Enforce compliance with GMP, HACCP, and hygiene protocols.
4. Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations (DOSH, OSHA) and Cadbury Shah Alam’s safety policies, including PPE usage and lockout-tagout procedures.
- Investigate incidents/near-misses and lead safety audits to mitigate risks.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to prevent contamination and hazards.
5. Problem-Solving & Reporting:
- Troubleshoot equipment/process issues and escalate complex problems to maintenance/engineering teams.
- Document production data (downtime, output, waste) and prepare shift reports for management review.
- Analyze trends to recommend process improvements.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Drive IL6S and Kaizen initiatives to enhance line efficiency and reduce waste.
- Encourage team participation in problem-solving workshops and innovation projects.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Liaise with maintenance, Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) teams to ensure material availability and equipment readiness.
- Working with BDE Team to support new product launches and process validation activities.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Degree in Engineering, Food Technology, or related field.
- Certifications: HACCP/GMP, DOSH safety training, or Lean Six Sigma (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years in FMCG/food manufacturing, 3+ year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in chocolate/confectionery production is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC-controlled machinery and SAP/MES systems.
- Knowledge of OEE, root-cause analysis, and Lean tools.
- Leadership Skills: Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and coaching abilities.
