In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program. This Internship is for Summer 2026 (May - August). In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our York, PA facility. This internship will be supporting production planning processes for our Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicles to identify performance trends and support improvement initiatives. This position is expected to be on-site to support our Manufacturing teams in our Fabrication and/or Assembly environments. Relocation will not be offered, and housing is not provided.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
1. Supporting production planning activities for the Armored Multi-purpose Vehicles in close partnership with Operations and Quality;
2. Working as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team to update and maintain Standard Work and Production Work Instruction documentation;
3. Gathering and providing data entry services in support of Station Control Board utilization on the manufacturing floor;
4. Participating in a diverse team environment to resolve manufacturing issues associated with production documentation;
5. Maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with safety objectives and policies;
6. Sharing responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Currently pursuing a Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
+ Ability to safely navigate shop floor environments
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Interpersonal and consultative skills to elicit information
+ Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
+ Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
+ Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and navigate a manufacturing floor
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Mechanical, electrical, or weld engineering courses
+ Aptitude to review, compare, and evaluate drawings for manufacturing execution
+ Basic literacy in industry-specific software (Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM), CreoView, SolidWorks, Oracle, etc.).
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $42654 - $57573
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
