Job Summary:
Provides support to Manufacturing Engineering team in development, improvement, maintenance, and elimination of nonconformance in quality and manufacturing engineering processes at the Vidalia, GA location
Responsibilities
Utilize the Lean philosophy to make improvements or troubleshoot production processesLook for opportunity to eliminate nonconformance or frequent production errorsPerform tests in support of new manufacturing processesWorks closely with supervisors and plant leaders Interacts with production employeesCommunicates with external stakeholders such as machine manufacturersProvides documentation for operator method sheets on how to run essential equipmentWorks with lead engineer on restoring equipment to operational state using measurement analysisTrains operators on skilled equipment to produce components meeting specificationsAbility to execute test plans and gather data to improve processes on the shop floorQualifications and Requirements:
High School Diploma or GEDFamiliarity with the Lean philosophy0-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment on skilled equipmentStrong mathematical skillsAbility to train othersBroad manufacturing engineering knowledgeKnowledge of manufacturing machinery within the plants and any complimentary certificationsKnowledge and ability to use many hand toolsAbility to identify areas for improvement and problem solveAbility to learn or use excel for data collectionPhysical Requirements:
Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shiftLift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally. Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assistBend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per dayReach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shiftStand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per dayClimb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per dayUse of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditionsBasic visual requirements for precision workModerate physical exertionThis role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.
