We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Memphis, TN. Do you enjoy the mix of being on a production floor, working side-by-side with an experienced team of operators one minute, and leading continuous improvement projects the next? Are you experienced in writing SOPs, managing BOMs, and establishing procedures and protocols? Do you pride yourself on taking ownership for all projects you are assigned?
If so, this mid-level role might be the ideal fit. In this position, you will use your solid foundation in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to drive projects and help our factory achieve optimal results. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing production systems, improving product quality, and driving efficiency across our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support production needs.
Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related problems.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, bills of material, and standard operating procedures.
Support new product introductions and process validations.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. (May consider candidates with 8+ years of relative experience in lieu of the degree requirement.)
3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP, MES).
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and project management abilities.
Experience with automation, robotics, or CNC machining is strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Lean Six Sigma certification.
PLC troubleshooting capability
Experience in developing capital expense justification business cases
Familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems.
Working Conditions:
Office and shop floor environment. We are a comfortable, year-round climate-controlled facility
Occasional travel may be required to support other facilities or vendors.
