Join Trane Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer II in Charlotte, NC! In this role, you will operate innovative engineered systems and develop, coordinate, and implement sustainable manufacturing production processes. Where is the work:
On-Site (5 days). The company has designated this role as safety sensitive.
What you will do:
Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.Develop, evaluate, and improve assembly methods for remanufactured and new compressors, compressor motors, and machined parts production.Coordinate the design and building of tooling and equipment to support production. Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.Partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
What you will bring:
Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines. High school diploma or equivalent required5+ years manufacturing experience preferably in hermetic motor manufacturingPrevious experience with electric motors and compressors is highly desirable. Experience with Oracle, Windchill, AutoCAD or Inventor is preferred.CNC lathe/CNC grinder experience a plusAbility to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design.Deep analytical and problem solving skillsEffective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships.
