Compensation includes a base salary of $72,200.00 - $108,200.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. EV Battery Solutions by Cox Automotive is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2) to support the concept-to-launch phases of electric vehicle (EV) battery remanufacturing processes. This role blends hands-on development with high-level system design. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across engineering, operations, and quality teams to develop robust, scalable, and thoughtfully designed manufacturing systems. Ownership, creativity, and clear communication are key to success in this role.
Job Duties:
Develop and launch manufacturing processes for EV battery remanufacturing, from initial concept through early production.Conceptualize and communicate manufacturing systems, workflows, and equipment using clear documentation and stakeholder engagement.Create and optimize floor layouts, workflows, and tooling to support efficient operations.Author and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, FMEAs, and process flows.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and scalability.Design and document in alignment with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.Take ownership of assigned projects and deliver results with minimal oversight.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 14 years’ experience in a related field.Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity using basic tools and mechanic-type work, floor layout planning, and FMEA methodology is required.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field). Applicants without a degree but with strong relevant experience may be considered.Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the automotive sector.Experience with lithium-ion batteries, high voltage systems, automation, and rapid prototyping is a plus.Applicants may be asked to participate in an assessment to showcase problem-solving, tool familiarity, and technical communication.Strong technical communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders to drive business goals.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.Working Environment
Variable, consisting of both the office environment and the manufacturing floor. Travel as necessary to support implementation and launch. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery and high voltage systems. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. Standard PPE includes safety glasses, safety vest, and safety footwear.
