Manufacturing Engineer I

You will work both independently and as part of a team. Join us! As a manufacturing engineer, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll consult with program management, design engineers, quality, and production teams in order to develop the most efficient and cost effective means of producing our products at the highest level of quality possible. Your technical duties involve reviewing engineering designs for producibility and the development of tooling and fixtures, work instructions, production process and procedures for electronic CCA/PCBA’s. You will be involved in the application of circuit board manufacturing technologies and industry best practices during the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Design for Manufacturing (DFM) for circuit board assemblies (CCA/PCBA’s)

Working with Surface Mount Technology in electronic assemblies

Utilizing software tools like Valor, Aegis, Altium, PADS and similar programs for design review and generating programming files

Automated equipment programming

Electronic component knowledge

Reviewing Gerber data

Being able to work with Bill’s of Materials (BOM’s)

Being able to comprehend Assembly and PCB Fabrication drawings

Creation of assembly routings and build process documentation

Ability to read schematics
 

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's of Science degree in related engineering discipline and typically 0-2 years of relevant experienceBasic understanding of Computer Aided Engineering toolsConceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practicesFamiliarity working in multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications We Prefer:

Electronics manufacturing with a focus on surface mount technology (SMT)Familiarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5Background in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryKnowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processesFamiliarity with work instruction/traveler developmentParticipation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB)Experience with new product introduction and transition to productionExposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems
