Responsible for employing engineering principles to resolve difficult problems in a manufacturing setting, from conception to final design, with team input.
Responsibilities
Responsible for employing engineering principles to resolve difficult problems in a manufacturing setting, from conception to final design, with team input. Lead project assignments in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria with minimal guidance. Drive innovation in manufacturing by analyzing current processes and developing improvements to increase efficiency or lower production costs. Devise new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles. Implement control systems and other projects to eliminate product discrepancies and to support quality and compliance in the manufacturing process. Utilize Good Documentation practices. Coordinate change controls and revise batch records, Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”), and other quality documents Support and emphasize the Safety and Quality commitments of the manufacturing process. Construct detailed, accurate project schedules and interface with development groups and technical support groups. Drive operational excellence and flawless execution in the areas of cost reduction, discard reduction, annual productivity improvements, inventory turnover, regulatory excellence (including exception reduction and internal/external regulatory commitment management), on time delivery, and lead time reduction.
Qualifications
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, related engineering field or equivalent and 5 years of pharmaceutical experience including in product packaging, equipment design and inspection, and in automation surrounding pharmaceutical products. Alternatively, must have a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, related engineering field or equivalent and 3 years of pharmaceutical experience including in product packaging, equipment design and inspection, and in automation surrounding pharmaceutical products. Travel is required approximately 4-6 times per year (international and domestic) depending on the project workload.
