Job Description SummaryJob Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will work at the Houston Service Center to repair and overhaul Aero-derivative gas turbine engines and modules. This role will help support the repairs of 160+ engines/year, 400 modules/year, close to $1B revenue/yearly. This role will support the 180+ shop floor personnel from a technical standpoint and drive productivity/manufacturability/cost-out improvements for the business.

Job Description

This position will maintain overall product responsibility for detailed parts and subassemblies. These responsibilities specifically include but are not limited to the following:

Provide technical support in the disassembly, repairs and assembly processes for the shop floorLead initiatives (Lean action workouts) to meet Service Center Fulfilment Five (EHS, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Productivity) Goals and ObjectivesCollaborate closely with ops teams and cross-functions to address specific Tooling related and manufacturing processes that need to be improved, collaborating with functions such as Operations, Quality, Repair Vendors, Equipment/Tooling vendors, etc.Provide leadership/mentorship for team to lead shop floor improvement projects to resolutionHelp drive resolution on process-related problems and technical issuesOwn and drive maintenance and P&E budgets for critical shop floor projects, tooling, supplies, and repairsShare best practices across shop floor to drive consistency, ensure our processes are continuously improvingOwn shop floor work instructions and ensure compliance with OEM ManualsPartner with cross-functional leaders to drive a strong culture in Quality and SafetyDevelop a strong partnership with internal and external teams to build continuous process improvementHold self and team accountable to Aero Alliance Compliance and Integrity standardsHold self and team accountable to Aero Alliance EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) culture, driving a safe workplace and environment

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree of Science in Mechanical/Industrial/Aeronautical/Electrical or two-year degree (Associates or Technical) plus at least 5+ years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environmentCustomer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needsExcellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Characteristics:

Strong computer skills, and proficiency in AUTOCAD, Excel, and PowerPointExperience with Gas Turbines engines, preferably aircraft or aero derivativesStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to analyze and resolve problemsAbility to document, plan, market, and execute programs and projectsLean Manufacturing experience driving process improvementsSix Sigma certification
