Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking three Manufacturing Engineers, including an experience Manufacturing Engineer, to join our team. The role involves providing technical support in the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements, assisting in planning and production procedures, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. The position requires developing and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures for machining, analyzing and improving manufacturing processes to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase efficiency, and evaluating and solving production problems. You will spend 80% of your time in the office and 20% on the production floor.

Responsibilities

Conduct contract reviews by evaluating customer purchase orders, drawings, and all supplements to create manufacturing plans.Create manufacturing documentation, such as travelers, sketches, and technique sheets.Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specifications, and other documents.Implement corrective and preventative actions as required.Manage projects, including scheduling, assembling, coordinating, and driving progress.Respond to inquiries and communicate project status to management and team as the point of contact.Communicate manufacturing intent, preference, and capabilities with customers, suppliers, and industry.Facilitate and troubleshoot problems associated with complex systems or project coordination, development, and design.

Essential Skills

Experience with AS9100 and ISO9000 standards.Proficiency in CNC machining and manufacturing engineering.Process development and improvement expertise.Mechanical aptitude and production support skills.Experience in work instruction and tooling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

For Sr Manufacturing Engineer: 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with a preferred degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.For Jr Manufacturing Engineer: 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with a degree.Experience with aerospace manufacturing, CNC machining processes, and exposure to AS9100 or ISO9000 environments.Experience in automotive or medical device manufacturing is also considered.

Work Environment

The work environment is based in Cerritos, CA, serving the aerospace manufacturing division. The company operates in the US and Europe, acting as a tier-one supplier for complex components such as engine shafts, in-flight refueling tubes, and landing-gear parts. The site is small with a medium-sized company feel, promoting a culture of ownership and initiative. While the office environment is outdated, respect and collaboration are highly promoted. The team frequently engages in company outings and operates in an industrial machine shop environment. The engineering team consists of Manufacturing Engineers, CNC Programmers, and interns.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cerritos, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
