Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes and work instructions in a small-batch job shop environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both CNC and manual machining processes and a passion for continuous improvement. Responsibilities + Analyze and understand production needs to develop efficient manufacturing processes. + Create and maintain job routers and work instructions. + Program CNC machines and optimize machining strategies for small-batch production. + Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality. + Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure seamless process integration. + Monitor and evaluate manufacturing performance and recommend adjustments as needed. + Support the training of production staff on new processes and equipment. + Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Essential Skills + Proven experience in a job shop or small-batch manufacturing environment. + Strong knowledge of CNC programming and manual machining processes. + Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing ERP systems. + Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. + Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. + Tool and die experience. + Time studies and process improvement expertise. + Experience with fabrication methods and tool design. + Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. + Experience with plant layout, AutoCAD, CAD software, CAM programming, line balancing, process flow, manufacturing engineering, process mapping, material flow, process flow diagrams, design, assembly, and work instruction. Work Environment The position is based in a small-batch job shop environment, requiring hands-on interaction with CNC and manual machining processes. The role involves collaboration with diverse teams and adherence to safety and quality standards. The work setting supports continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
