Job Description
The role of a Manufacturing Engineer is to blend product design with process improvement. The engineer will be responsible for developing new part designs using SolidWorks to enhance installation efficiency, build quality, and reduce warranty claims. This position involves creating detailed and layout drawings, collaborating with the materials and chassis procurement teams, and analyzing production processes to eliminate waste while ensuring proper part fitment during installation.
Responsibilities
Develop new part designs using SolidWorks to enhance efficiency and quality.Create detailed and layout drawings for production.Collaborate with materials and chassis procurement teams.Analyze and streamline production processes to eliminate waste.Ensure proper fitment of parts during installation.Support final assembly and sales teams with production and layout drawings.Work through issues on the shop floor alongside other Manufacturing Engineers.Engage in heavy shadowing with the goal of developing into a higher-level Manufacturing Engineer.Essential Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to think through problems.Experience with SolidWorks for developing new products and creating drawings.Process improvement and waste reduction strategies.Ability to read and comprehend part drawings, wiring, and hydraulic schematics.Understanding of 12V electrical and hydraulic plumbing systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.Ability to interpret technical documents and communicate effectively.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Welding skills are beneficial for projects and fixture/template building.Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred, but associates or relevant work experience also considered.2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.2+ years of experience utilizing SolidWorks.Work Environment
The work environment may expose the employee to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. There may be occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. The noise level is typically moderate to loud. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.40 - $31.25/hr.
