Manufacturing Engineer Astronics Subsidiary LSI Location East Aurora, NY Description At Astronics LSI, we’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who’s ready to help optimize and evolve our production processes. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams- from planning and design to procurement and operations- to improve manufacturing methods, maximize efficiency, and help bring innovative products to life. This position is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in manufacturing engineering who is eager to grow their skills in a hands-on, fast-paced environment supporting complex electromechanical systems. **What You’ll Do** + Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods and workflows + Collaborate on equipment layout and workspace design for optimal efficiency + Work with planning, design, and tooling teams to streamline production processes + Analyze production times, staffing needs, and cost estimates to support business decisions + Consult with vendors to ensure products meet quality standards and specs + Apply statistical tools to forecast manufacturing capacity and identify opportunities + Contribute to internal audit documentation and SOX compliance (as needed) Position Requirements **What You Bring** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field + 1–3 years of relevant manufacturing experience + Knowledge of electromechanical systems, machining, electronics, and painting processes + Bonus points for experience with photometric equipment, chemical processing/formulations + Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office required) + Familiarity with statistical analysis and process documentation **Additional Requirements** Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Person in accordance with ITAR **Work Environment & Physical Demands** You’ll work in a moderate-noise environment, with occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and hands-on interaction with equipment.
