Job Description
With general direction, the Manufacturing Engineer will lead the introduction of new products into the facility, enhance productivity and profitability of existing production procedures, and provide ongoing support throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This role acts as a technical expert in process technology, driving improvements through innovative and creative evaluations of manufacturing processes to ensure optimal labor and material costs.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate manufacturing processes independently to ensure optimal labor and material costs, increasing productivity and profitability.Identify prime areas for improvement through justifications and evaluations, tracking expenditures to ensure budget compliance.Reduce and eliminate worker exposures to ergonomic stresses in the workplace.Provide timely product and process support in any manufacturing area to diagnose problems and implement solutions, minimizing production interruptions.Lead the implementation of significant product, process, or corporate change initiatives introduced into the plant.Conduct advanced research to introduce and integrate new processes, equipment, and technologies into the company.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent education.3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, focusing on floor support and process improvements.Proficiency in lean manufacturing, equipment selection, equipment installation, Excel, engineering design, design for manufacturing, simulation, process modeling, and value stream mapping.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong analysis skills in process, capacity, cost/benefit, waste stream, and quality tools.Experience in internal and external quality support and management.Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, including flow, PQ, equipment reliability, and setup reduction.Facilitation and negotiation skills.Understanding of material handling and productivity improvement techniques such as RCI’s.Knowledge in behavior sciences, economics, and financial analysis.Expertise in work measurement, interpersonal skills, and advanced computer skills.Experience in design, specification, purchase, and installation of new equipment.Proficiency in the Engineering Design Process and Design for Manufacturing/Manufacturability.Knowledge of simulation, process modeling, and value stream mapping.Project management and leadership abilities.Understanding of Occupational Bio Mechanics and Human Factors Engineering.Strategic planning capabilities.Work Environment
The work environment includes planned 2nd shift hours from 4pm to 12am/1am to support production, requiring adaptability to the shift schedule.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
