Job Description

As our Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for seizing opportunities to improve safety, quality, and (lastly) cycle time across our assembly lines. You will design custom tooling and fixtures to support our assembly processes, and you are also able to coordinate with third-party vendors as needed to bring large-scale solutions in-house. You are extremely organized and have strong attention to detail. You hold safety as the highest priority and are able to identify and implement controls for factors that may impact product quality. You will use your experience with production processes to improve material flow and design workstation layouts that will help our builders do their best work. You will work onsite from our Milwaukee, WI location.

Your Responsibilities:Interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematicsCreate and update visual work instructionsPerform time studies and gather data to support CI initiativesImprove workstation layout and material flow, reduce wasteDesign tooling and fixtures in SolidworksCreate engineering drawings and submit drawing packages for reviewSpecify and procure tools/equipment/PPE as needed to introduce new processes to ProductionTest, validate, and prepare documentation for new equipmentCreate & update process documentationPerform training with stakeholders as needed to roll out your new process changes/improvementsSupport the implementation of ECNs in the production environmentPerform facility walk through inspections to support 5SAssist with the investigation & resolution of health & safety issues

The Essentials - You Will Have:Bachelor's Degree in relevant fieldLegal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experienceExperience creating or revising process documentationUnderstanding of DFMAD and typical assembly processesSolidworks CAD modelingEngineering drawings, GD&TFamiliar with Engineering Change Management processes (ECOs/ECNs)Experience working directly with suppliers and creating RFQs and/or purchase requisitions.Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsExperience maintaining BOMs/BOOs in a production environmentHands-on experience with common tools (i.e screwdriver, hammer, electric drill)Epicor or a similar ERP systemKnowledge of ISO 9001:2015Python programming experienceKnowledge of SQL and databases.Lean training at a green or black belt levelExperience working in a facility with TPM
