Job Title: Manufacturing Technician
Job Description

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of manufacturing tasks involving the production of reagents and buffers. You will work closely with your supervisor or lead to execute these tasks effectively. Your role will include troubleshooting formulation processes, conducting quality control procedures, and ensuring the proper completion of work orders. You will also play a vital part in improving batch records and standard operating procedures (SOPs), identifying any gaps or weaknesses in current processes. A key aspect of your work will be maintaining accurate inventory records and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to meet production goals.

ResponsibilitiesPerform assigned manufacturing tasks for reagents and buffers.Troubleshoot formulations, filling processes, and packaging.Conduct quality control procedures for consumables.Perform data collection and analysis.Process work orders to complete products for inventory.Execute and enhance batch records and SOPs.Identify gaps and weaknesses in SOPs and formulations.Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, ordering, and receipt.Operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel.Lead a line for kit support and perform simple buffer formulations under 50L.Engage in troubleshooting activities.Essential SkillsExperience with SOPs, batch records, and work instructions.Hands-on experience with pH meters, conductivity meters, and UV-vis equipment.General laboratory skills, including UV-VIS spectroscopy.Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.Self-motivated, organized, and flexible.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or related field preferred.0-2 years of relevant experience in consumable manufacturing.Experience with formulation, fill, packaging, and chromatography in a laboratory setting is preferred.Experience with developing and updating Bills of Materials (BOMs) is a plus.Work Environment

The work environment offers a beautiful new building in the heart of Sorrento Valley with projected growth opportunities. The role requires working in staggered shifts, starting with training in the second shift (2pm - 10:30pm), transitioning to a staggered second shift (6pm - 2:30am), and eventually moving to a third shift (10pm - 6:30am). Compensation includes differential pay for second, staggered second, and third shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
