Manual Machinist - Valve Technician

BAE Systems maybe the answer to your search.** We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Manual Machinist with experence with valve repair experence, to support the inside machine shop at our Jacksonville Florida Marine Soloutions location. This is a full-time position with occasional overtime as needed to better serve production demand. In this role, you will work in our shop with other experienced inside machinists conducting activities utilizing a variety of mahines normally found in an inside machine shop as well as performing or assisting with the repair of a various pieces of equipment or system components. Additionally, you may be required to go aboard customer vessels to perform Inside Machinist activities such as dimensional analysis, or portable line boring or milling in support of other crafts. To perform your duties, you will need to operate basic manual machine shop equipment, as well as demonstrate strong math skills and must be capable and willing to work in a machining environment requiring the use of cutting fluids and oils. In this skilled trade, dependability and a strong work ethic is vital. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** Minimum 3 years' experience operating machine shop manual equipment such as lathes and milling machines as well as performing maintenance and repair on various types of valves such as gate and globe valves. + Ability to show up for work on time. + Ability to work overtime to include weekends when needed. + Ability to mentally shift between competing work requirements. + Strong basic math skills. + Ability to read and interprit blueprints/technical drawings. + Ability to understand, read, write clearly the English language. + Ability to work indeppendantly as well as part of a team. + Experence with machine shop CNC machines is a plus but not a requirement. + Must be able to obtain and maintain Defense Biometric Identification System "DBIDS" access card. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Dependability and strong work ethic + High School Diploma or GED and 3 years experience operating manual machine shop equipment as well as industrial valve repair experience, or an equivalent number of years of education in valve repair and maintenance, includingrepairing variousvalve. + Experience with tools and machinery required to perform valve repair duties. Including but not limited to manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders and power saws. + Ability to clearly write and speak and understand English in order to interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals or instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. + Ability to use, read and understand precision measuring tools and gauges. + Mechanical aptitude including use of basic hand tools. + Ability to climb stairs and lift tools and materials to a job location. + Willingness and ability to use personal machinist and mechanical tools. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $44720 - $74360 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
