Manual Machinist
**Job Title: Manual Machinist** **Job Description** The Manual Machinist will be responsible for the modification and operation of industrial manual machinery to produce large pump parts with precise specifications. This role requires the use of knowledge in metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to develop and maintain these parts. The successful candidate will have experience with equipment such as horizontal lathes, Leblond manuals, and vertical turret lathes, and will perform layouts, setups, and operations on all machine tools, ensuring tolerances are held within +/- 0.01". **Responsibilities** + Modify and operate industrial manual machinery to precise specifications. + Develop and maintain large pump parts using knowledge of metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. + Perform setups, operations, and layouts on all machine tools including horizontal lathes, Leblond manuals, and vertical turret lathes. + Ensure tolerances are held within +/- 0.01". **Essential Skills** + 3 years of experience in manual machining specifically with vertical or horizontal lathes. + 1+ years of experience with calipers and micrometers, required for first and last piece inspection. + 1+ years of experience working on a traveler or router for procedures. + Ability to read geometric drawings. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Any CNC experience is a plus. **Why Work Here?** Join a growing company located in the heart of Chicago with a global presence, consisting of 650 employees worldwide.
