Our client, a leader in marine manufacturing, is seeking a Manual Lathes & Mills Machinist to join their team. As a Manual Lathes & Mills Machinist, you will be part of the production team supporting high-quality marine applications. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Manual Lathes & Mills Machinist
**Location:** Commerce, MI
**Pay Range:** Negotiable
**Shift:** 7AM-3:30PM Monday thru Friday
**What's the Job?**
+ Set up and operate manual mills and lathes to machine marine components to exact specifications.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
+ Machine parts such as shafts, bushings, brackets, and housings used in marine engines and systems.
+ Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality and accuracy.
+ Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
**What's Needed?**
+ High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience operating manual mills and lathes.
+ Strong understanding of machining techniques, materials, and tooling.
+ Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
+ Proficient in using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
