Managing Director

The purpose of this role is to lead and drive the performance and growth of Rentokil Colombia through organic growth and acquisitions, ensuring that the business delivers budgeted revenue, profit and operating cash flow targets.

The General Manager is the final responsible for the Colombian business. The business covers Pest Control, Beverage, Hygiene, and beverages. For this area, General Manager has general managerial, turnover and profit & loss (P&L) responsibilities. He reports directly to the RMD.

The Regional Managing Director is responsible for ensuring Rentokil Initial’s values of Service, Relationships & Teamwork are driven and embedded across the Region, ensuring that colleagues represent the company professionally and in accordance with company ethics and standards.

Responsibilities

The final responsibility for the whole country business which includes Pest Control & Hygiene, and Beverage Services. Promote company values and make sure values are lived in the organization. Responsible for and focuses on growing strategic business areas with a view to maximising profit. Growth is generated through organic & acquisitive growth. Leads the Management Team, and a team of local Branch Managers by providing effective leadership to support them in achieving P&L targets and expected results. Responsible for promoting business system and process improvement through focussing on efficiency. Takes into account cost-effectiveness in any decision being made. Responsible for the performance of the Sales & Service team; carrying out appraisals, creating personal development plans and setting SMART objectives and targets. Responsible for the change management process. Ultimately responsible for compliance with H&SE, quality and environment policies.

Main tasks

Permanent and regular attention to the continuing quality of the running, daily business. Focus on Sales & Service, benchmarking, tracking, following and presenting KPIs in order to improve the business through customer service, effective processing, delivery and support functions like H & S, Administration and HR. Permanent and regular attention to new opportunities to grow the Service Pest Control, Beverage, and Hygiene operations business in his/her relevant area, in line with the Regional and Corporate framework via: Acquisitions and New service lines. Creates and contributes to strategic and business plans, and inputs into sub-functional/divisional strategy. Establishes and contributes to clear budget objectives.

Requirements:

Academic Background: Educated to graduate level; preferably postgraduate. A qualified professional in management/economics/sales & services. Commercial background. MBA is an advantage. Experience: At least 8 years of proven executive experience in similar positions with accountability across multiple territories and geographies. Experience mainly in a similar market or service company. Skills Excellent people management skills with demonstrable experience in leading a large, dispersed and diverse workforce Hands-on & excellent organisational and leadership skills with the ability to operate effectively both strategically and operationally as required.  Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong understanding of corporate finance and influencing key financial performance indicators including revenue, APBITA, and cash flow. Outstanding communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels with a range of internal and external stakeholders including customers, employees, trade unions, investors, analysts, regulators, government bodies and suppliers as required. Able to demonstrate high levels of drive, work ethic and personal accountability with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining sound judgement and a rigorous focus on the details Being a good negotiator.
