Job Summary:
The Managing Director, National Tax Operations (Managing Director) is responsible for leading and supervising a variety of strategic initiatives and tax projects that support the vision, mission, and strategy of the consolidated tax practice. With an emphasis on follow through, execution, collaboration, and accountability, the Managing Director, National Tax Operations assists in setting the direction for the operational and tactical objectives of the consolidated tax practice, while driving and executing the strategic initiatives and projects that supports the tax practice’s success.
Job Duties:
Supervises, participates in, and develops new detailed project plans encompassing key tasks, milestones, and critical path activities to meet tax practice initiatives Ensures that policies, processes, procedures, and protocols are accurately documented and performed, as required Leads the review and evaluation of project progress and key performance indicators, soliciting and incorporating feedback to continuously drive improvement Serves as the key point of contact for assigned projects - managing and communicating timelines and tasks regularly Manages the workflow process, managing and empowering team members to execute operational goals Ensures that consistent, constant, and relevant training is implemented for projects as necessary Continuously evaluates current processes and develops action plans to address key areas for improvement including process efficiency Collaborates with key stakeholders in identifying areas for process and communication improvement, including Tax Leadership, National Tax Learning, National Tax Administration, Marketing, Finance, and Office of Tax Quality and Risk Management Continuously analyzes the tax business line by evaluating market and competitor trends to provide appropriate support and guidance to Tax Leadership Assists with financial forecasting and budgeting Other duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises regional, STS, and National Tax Project Managers and provides timely verbal and written feedback regarding performance Acts as a career advisor and mentor as assigned Provides coaching and support to all project teamsQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Taxation, or Accounting, requiredExperience:
Eight (8) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or prior operations management or project management experience, required Experience in drafting and creating effective internal and external written communication, required Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining tax processes, preferred Experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting metrics, preferredLicense/Certifications:
CPA, CFA, or PMP, preferredSoftware:
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, required Proficiency with PowerBI, preferred Proficiency with PeopleSoft and OneStream, or experience with similar corporate management software, preferredLanguage:
