**What You'll Be Doing**
The Global Head of Digital Assets is the senior executive responsible for defining, mobilizing, and executing CIBC’s global digital asset strategy. This role spans the full spectrum of emerging and institutional-grade digital‑asset capabilities—including cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, tokenized assets, digital money, and DLT‑enabled financial infrastructure.

**How You’ll Succeed**
**Strategy & Leadership**
+ Define and own the bank’s global digital assets strategy aligned with overall corporate and business-line objectives.
+ Identify priority use cases across markets, custody, payments, capital markets, wealth management, and treasury.
+ Act as the senior executive sponsor for digital asset initiatives across regions and businesses.
**Product & Platform Development**
+ Own the design and launch of digital asset products and services, including custody, trading, settlement, tokenization, and on-chain payments.
+ Guide build-vs-buy decisions and partnerships with fintechs, blockchain networks, and market infrastructure providers working with CIBC departments and divisions.
**Governance, Risk & Compliance**
+ Establish a global governance framework covering risk management, compliance, operational controls, and financial crime prevention for digital assets.
+ Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit to ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
+ Define and support policies for asset safekeeping, key management, client suitability, and market integrity.
**Regulatory & External Engagement**
+ Serve as the bank’s senior representative with regulators, central banks, industry bodies, and standard-setting organizations on digital asset matters.
+ Monitor global regulatory developments and proactively shape policy discussions.
+ Represent the bank at industry forums and public engagements as a thought leader and increased presence on the global stage.
**Commercial Growth & Partnerships**
+ Develop revenue-generating business models for digital asset offerings.
+ Build strategic partnerships with exchanges, custodians, blockchain protocols, technology providers, and institutional clients.
+ Support client acquisition and deepen relationships with institutional, corporate, and wealth clients.
**People & Operating Model**
+ Build and lead a high-performing global digital assets team spanning product, technology, risk, and commercial functions (direct and indirect).
+ Define operating models that integrate digital assets into existing business lines while maintaining appropriate controls.
+ Foster a culture of responsible innovation and continuous learning.
**Who You Are**
+ **You can demonstrate 10+ years of relevant industry experience.**
+ **You have completed an undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering.**
+ **You can demonstrate successful launch and adoption of digital asset products.**
+ **You can demonstrate revenue and client growth** attributable to digital asset initiatives including cross selling products and services.
+ **You have the knowledge of regulatory approvals and audit** outcomes to coordinate with appropriate CIBC Departments.
+ **You have experience with platform resilience, security, and operational performance** requirements to support product initiatives working with T&O.
+ **You have the desired experience to demonstrate market positioning and thought leadership** of tokenization to increase presence of CIBC on the global stage.
