The objective of the US Consumer Services Control Management Specialized Risk Management team is to provide subject matter expertise on specific Operational Risk topics to ensure the BU is equipped with in-depth knowledge of risk-stripes to manage and mitigate these risks effectively; supports the BU with expert guidance for topical Operational Risk intelligence.
US Consumer Services is looking for a Manager of Specialized Risk Management – Third Party Risk, focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.
The Manager, US Consumer Services Specialized Risk Management will:
Provide leadership and oversight of large-scale operational risk management programs within the first line, i.e., Third-Party Life Cycle Management (TLM), Alternate Practices (AP)Serve as the go-to subject matter expert within the BU for TLM, APEnsure USCS is compliant with AEMP10, Regulatory requirements/changes, Enterprise initiatives and leverage Industry best practicesEnsure all activities & guidance provided to BU are aligned with standards set by centralized specialist risk-stripe teamsComply with policies and programs pertaining to specific risk types, and support with design/ enhancement of BU procedures /standards by providing topic-specific insightCoordinate activities to ensure effective execution and coverage of risk framework elements, including key risk indicators to measure effectiveness of programsAdvise on integration of decentralized risk types into broader Operational Risk Management (ORM) policies and programsDevelop and maintain a repository of topical risk information, including emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory updates relevant to each area of expertiseSupport with design and dissemination of targeted training and awareness programs to increase understanding and management of specific risk topics within USCSConsult on the design and implementation of controls tailored to specialized risk areas, and provide broader input on the area of riskShare topical risk knowledge with BU process owners to enable BU to strengthen and embed relevant ORM considerations into processesAdvise topical risk strategies and procedures to align with changes in the business environment and regulatory landscape, and frequently reviewPartner with second and third line to establish best practicesBe a key leader for sharing insights, better practices, themes, etc. across business to ensure consistencyRequired Qualifications:
6 to 8 years of experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activitiesProven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-wide risk management frameworks and methodologies.Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact and obtain buy-in from senior BU/tech counterpartsExperience in process governance, establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standardsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectivelyProficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectivelyPrior experience in Enterprise Risk Management programs is a plusSystems knowledge - Process Unity, Archer, CongaPreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA), certifications are advantageousStrong Enterprise Risk Management experience – understanding of regulatory requirements impacting risk managementProven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-wide, large scale risk management programs, frameworks and methodologiesServing as the go-to subject matter expert pertaining to specific operational risk typesEnsuring activities are aligned with standards set by specialist risk-stripe teams Complying with policies and programs pertaining to specific risk types and supporting with design/enhancement of procedures/standards by providing topic-specific insightAdvising on decentralized risk types into broader operational risk policiesExperience in financial services industry
