Role Summary

The Manager – Third Party IT Vendor Management is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end lifecycle of IT third‑party vendors that support technology and business operations for American Express Banking Corp. (AEBC) India. Key objective is to ensure service performance, resilience, regulatory compliance, and risk management in accordance with enterprise third‑party policies and AEBC India specific outsourcing and regulatory requirements.

The role serves as the Third‑Party Relationship Manager (TRM) for assigned IT vendors and works closely with Product Capabilities, Technology, Operations, Risk Management, Information Security, Procurement, and Legal & Compliance teams to ensure vendors meet contractual, operational, data protection, and regulatory obligations, including expectations applicable to India regulated entities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Third‑Party Lifecycle & Relationship Management

Act as the primary Third‑Party Relationship Manager (TRM) for assigned IT vendors supporting AEBC India.

Manage the full vendor lifecycle including planning, onboarding, steady state operations, issue management, and termination or exit.

Ensure vendor engagements comply with enterprise third‑party management policies and India outsourcing requirements, including documentation and approvals.

Maintain accurate vendor inventory, relationship records, and engagement documentation.

2. Service Delivery & Performance Management

Monitor vendor service delivery against SLAs, KPIs, availability, and resiliency commitments, as per enterprise third party standards.

Drive remediation plans for service failures, recurring incidents, or performance gaps.

Partner with Product Capability, Technology and Operations teams to ensure vendors support production stability, incident response, and post–go‑live support.

3. Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Oversight (India Focus)

Partner with Third‑Party Risk Management, Product Capabilities, Technologies, Operational Risk, Information Security, and Compliance teams to identify and mitigate risks.

Support regulatory, audit, and internal reviews related to outsourcing, data protection, operational resilience, and technology risk.

4. Governance, Reporting & Escalation

Identify, document, and escalate significant vendor risks, service issues, and control failures.

Support AEBC India and enterprise‑level risk committees with insights related to third‑party IT services.

5. Contract, Commercial & Financial Oversight

Partner with Strategic Sourcing and Legal teams on IT vendor contracts, including:

SLAs and performance metrics

Business continuity and disaster recovery clauses

Data protection, confidentiality, and audit rights

Exit and transition provisions

6. Data, Security & Technology Controls

Ensure vendors comply with data protection, information security, and record management requirements applicable to India operations.

Validate implementation of required security, access, and operational controls for third‑party IT services.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience

Typically, 6 to 10 years of experience in IT vendor management, technology operations, risk management, or service delivery.

Experience managing critical or regulated third‑party IT services, preferably in India or other regulated markets.

Exposure to incident management, SLA governance, outsourcing oversight, and operational risk.

Skills & Competencies

Bachelor’s in engineering (or associated streams). Masters preferred.

Strong technology orientation and mindset

Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills

Understanding of India outsourcing and regulatory expectations

Contract and SLA interpretation

Risk and compliance management

Operational governance and reporting

Clear communication and escalation management
