We are hiring a Manager, Technical Services, for our Owensboro KY Factory!
The Technical Services Manager leads a cross-functional team responsible for process reliability, equipment performance, maintenance excellence, and technical problem-solving across the site. This role ensures safe, stable, and cost-effective operations by owning the site’s asset strategy (preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance), overseeing technical standards, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven root cause analysis, reliability engineering, and capital implementation.
This role is a key partner to Production, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, and People & Culture, ensuring capability build, standard work adoption, and readiness for growth and transformation initiatives.
‘Day to Day’
Asset & Reliability Management
Own the site’s Reliability program (PM/PdM strategy, criticality analysis, spare parts strategy, and CMMS data integrity).Lead failure mode & effects analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective action plans to reduce unplanned downtime.Establish and maintain Technical Standards and equipment specification libraries.Maintenance Leadership
Manage and develop the Maintenance/Technical Services team (planners, technicians, reliability engineers, controls specialists).Oversee maintenance planning & scheduling; ensure backlog health and work order completion against schedule adherence targets.Drive contractor management, vendor performance, and OEM relationships.Operational Excellence & CI
Partner with Production to meet OEE, yield, and throughput targets; lead structured problem-solving (A3, DMAIC, 5-Why).Implement and sustain 5S, standard work, and visual management in technical areas; ensure lockout/tagout and safe work practices.Facilitate kaizens and CI projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).Capital & Technology
Own small-to-mid capital projects from business case to startup; support major capital with URS, FAT/SAT, and validation.Lead controls/automation reliability and cybersecurity standards in partnership with IT/OT.Evaluate and deploy new technologies (condition monitoring, IIoT sensors, energy management, advanced analytics).Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, quality systems, and internal policies.Maintain accurate technical documentation (P&IDs, electrical, mechanical, SOPs, job plans, technical training content).Track and report operational metrics, present to site leadership on performance and risk.People & Culture
Build a high-performing, diverse team culture focused on safety, learning, accountability, and recognition.Develop technical talent pipelines (apprenticeships, certifications, upskilling).Optional for union sites\\] Collaborate within the CBA, ensure consistent application of work rules, and partner with P&C on employee relations.What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical) or closely related field, or equivalent experience.7+ years in maintenance/reliability/engineering roles within manufacturing or industrial operations.3+ years of people leadership, including planners/technicians/engineers.Demonstrated success improving OEE, MTBF/MTTR, and cost per unit via structured problem-solving.Proficiency with CMMS/EAM (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, Infor) and maintenance planning & scheduling.Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements (LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety, confined space).Experience managing capital projects and vendor/OEM performance.Preferred Skillset:
Professional certifications: CMRP, CRL, PMP, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, ISA/controls certifications.Experience in a high-volume, 24/7 operation and/or regulated environment (FDA, USDA, cGMP, ISO).Automation/controls expertise (PLC/HMI/SCADA, networking/OT cybersecurity).Prior experience in a represented workforce and working knowledge of CBAs.Core Competencies:

Work Conditions:
