Manager Shrink Programs
**Summary of Position** This role is for an **on-site** **Manager of Shrink Programs** in the Asset Protection department based at Dollar Tree corporate headquarters in Chesapeake Virginia. The candidate must possess expertise in shrink reduction strategies, managing programs, projects, people, processes, technology. Excellent communications, organizational skills, creativity in problem solving, and adapting to changing priorities are required for success in this position. This AP Manager leads strategic initiatives to minimize inventory loss across retail operations. This role combines data analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and operational oversight to reduce shrink caused by theft, damage, miscounts, and process inefficiencies. **Principal Duties & Responsibilities** • Develop and implement shrink reduction strategies targeting internal and external theft, inventory inaccuracies, and operational defects. • Provide expertise in shrink reduction • Lead cross-functional programs involving store operations, finance, supply chain, and Asset Protection, inventory accounting teams. • Analyze shrink-related metrics (e.g., inventory adjustments, damages, physical inventory results) to identify root causes and drive corrective actions. • Design and maintain dashboards & reporting tools to monitor shrink trends and program effectiveness. • Conduct audits and develop actions to ensure compliance and uncover fraud or procedural gaps. • Train and support store teams on shrink awareness, prevention techniques, and SOPs. • Work jointly with key business partners to Identify opportunities to Test and Learn strategy for product protection and technology including store selection, communications, roll out, training and execution. • Collaborate and support field and Supply Chain Asset Protection teams to educate and support a comprehensive shrink reduction program. • Facilitate partnerships with vendors and merchant teams to address assortment, packaging, catalog, and reconciliation issues that contribute to shrink. • Support AP senior leadership and field organizations with actionable programs and presentations for communicating with field and executive teams • Scale program initiatives across regions by tailoring strategies to local needs and maturity levels. **Minimum Requirements / Qualifications** • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • 7+ years’ professional experience, retail Asset Protection or store Operations • Prior hands-on responsibility for Internal Investigations • Strategic understanding of retail Asset Protection environment with proven record of influencing change. • Proven ability to work with colleagues at a variety of seniority levels. Ability to build effective and influential partnerships and communicate to internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels. • Have experience generating documentation and reports to describe service and program impact, return on investment, effectiveness and consistency. • Proven results developing and implementing end to end shrink reduction solutions (process and / or technology) spanning across both internal and external stakeholders. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Leadership skills to communicate action plans and ensure completion across business lines and between multiple internal organizations. • Time management, prioritization and task organization skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. • Experience with all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Experience and knowledge of shrink reduction plans in retail environment **Desired Qualifications** • Regional Asset Protection, Loss Prevention or Security Management • Possess the ability to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results. • Wicklander-Zulawski interviewing certificate or similar • CFI (Certified Forensic Interviewer) • Loss Prevention Certification (LPC)
