Manager Rehabilitation Services
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **The Manager of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations and growth of Rehabilitation Services.** This includes coordinating with all therapy disciplines to plan appropriate clinical and specialized rehabilitation programs. The manager also collaborates closely with Chelsea Hospital departments and physicians to ensure seamless patient care. The department includes approximately **80 team members** , supporting both inpatient and outpatient rehab services following a recent expansion of the **inpatient rehab unit.** Chelsea Hospital, a joint venture with Michigan Medicine, has seen a significant rise in patient complexity across both its acute care and inpatient rehabilitation units over the past seven years. In response to growing demand, our rehab unit expanded from 24 to 40 beds in September 2024 and discharged nearly 700 patients in the last fiscal year. We care for a diverse and high-acuity patient population, including those recovering from traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, transplants (liver, kidney, heart, lung), strokes, oncology-related conditions, amputations (including quad and upper extremity), and other complex neurological disorders. Our team is actively developing specialized programs for SCI and TBI, including disorders of consciousness, and we are deeply committed to continuous staff education and clinical excellence. **REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND** **CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE** + Education: BS or advance degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or in Speech Language Pathology. + Licensure / Certification: Current compliance with licensure within the State of Michigan. + Experience: Three years of related working experience, preferably in a hospital setting. + Supervisory experience required. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Supervises and coordinates activities of clinical and office support staff. Ensures adherence to policies and procedural guidelines. Organizes and monitors daily department operations to ensure completion of work. + Responsible for creating a Marketing Strategy and Growth plan for outpatient therapy, as well as performing marketing calls to Physicians and other potential referral sources to promote growth. + Ensures appropriate clinical practice for staff by training, mentoring and participating with patient work plans. May act in licensed clinical role when needed based on volume and staffing. + Works to maintain a collaborative and cooperative work relationship with staff, Physicians and patient's families and deals with conflict timely and constructively for resolution. + Serve on hospital and community committees as designated by the Servie Line Director + Interviews, hires, orients, trains and evaluates performance of, and when necessary, disciplinary action for clinical and clerical staff. + Responsible for maintenance and addition of department-specific policies and procedures for regulatory compliance with third party payors and TJC + Participate and/or lead process improvement projects to assure cost effective, patient centered care + Assist Service Line Director in the development and adherence to Rehab Services budgets and/or develop site-specific budgets as appropriate. + Promote community awareness and markets services through participation in community activities, and/or professional healthcare organizational awareness programs. + Updates training materials to educate, orient and train personnel on proper usage of hospital scheduling, registration and billing system. + The selected candidate will act as the clinical coordination of education for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language programs. **POSITION BENEFITS AND HIGHLIGHTS** + Competitive compensation and participate in the Management Incentive Program. + Full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Life Insurance, Short and Long-term Disability. + Benefits effective Day One!
