As the Manager Regulatory Affairs, you will be responsible for shaping a balanced regulatory and fiscal framework for our smoke-free products (SFPs) to allow their commercialization while maintaining a conducive regulatory environment for conventional cigarettes to meet business objectives.You will be influencing the regulatory and fiscal framework for SFPs, as well as relevant regulators & decision makers, and ensure that proposed legislations (both at the national and local level), rules and regulations, and other government issuances are reasonable to allow for the commercialization of SFPs in the country.

 

You will be responsible for:Managing the day-to-day engagements and execution of strategies with government officials from the executive and legislative branches of government and ensure there is awareness on the science behind SFPs among regulators and decision makers in order to establish a reasonable regulatory and fiscal framework to attain business objectives.

Identifying, develoing, and engaging government stakeholders who are interested to become advocates on the potential population benefit of SFPs in order to attain business objective

Developing engagement tools and materials that may be useful for government stakeholders including position papers, research studies and briefing material

Providing regular updates and relevant data to PMFTC organization, regional operating headquarters and the operations center on the latest developments on the regulatory and fiscal framework for SFPs as well as the conventional cigarette business

To be successful in this role, you will need:At least 10 years of meaningful experience working as a corporate lawyer or doing government relations work, ideally gained in the consumer products, electronic devices, or tobacco industriesExperience in lobbying with government stakeholders is an advantageAn established network across different government and non-government agenciesExperience working in the filed with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively manage both internal and external stakeholder
