**The Opportunity:**
We are seeking a **Manager for Category Procurement** to oversee **Reagents & Biologics** sub-categories within our Corporate Procurement function. In this high-impact, strategic leadership opportunity, you will be part of a forward-thinking team that values innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. You will be the go-to expert and primary point of contact for overall sub-category needs, including category strategy, market insights, and supplier relationships—driving innovation, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation across divisions.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams across domestic and international affiliates, acting as a trusted business partner to identify critical needs and deliver sourcing excellence. From contract negotiations to strategic project support, you will proactively identify areas of opportunity for process improvements, cost efficiencies and solution development while contributing directly to our bottom line.
**Core Responsibilities:**
+ Understands and contributes to the business unit strategy, based on the specific business and technology expertise, and translates business strategy for the category
+ Understands the overall needs of multiple business units and negotiates an accepted portfolio, meeting the most strategic needs of the category
+ Apply an intentional methodology and approach for opportunity/problem framing, analysis, generating insights, and action development for the category
+ Develop and execute cross-divisional category strategies aligned with business goals
+ Serve as the subject matter expert in spend analytics, market trends, and commercial landscape for the category
+ Lead sourcing activities including contract drafting, supplier negotiations, and relationship management
+ Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and strategic innovation
+ Proactively conduct advanced data analysis, leveraging large data sets (e.g., cross-division spend data, market research), to uncover actionable insights to support decision-making
+ Monitor global market dynamics and proactively manage category risks
+ Prepare executive-level presentations and reports that influence strategic direction
+ Collaborate with Finance, R&D, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of procurement solutions
+ Champion change management and drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. Advanced degree preferred
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable.
+ 5+ years of industry experience in a relevant field with demonstrated progressive responsibility in purchasing/commodity management
+ Proven ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and deliver measurable results
+ Strong experience in negotiating terms in purchasing agreements. In-depth experience in contract management
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate insights to diverse audiences
+ Experience managing cross-functional projects, with the ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
+ Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
+ Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
+ Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
+ Track record of proactive risk identification and mitigation
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, including modeling and statistical analysis
+ Professional certifications (CPSM, CPM, PMP or equivalent)
+ Experience synthesizing disparate data sources into strategic insights
+ Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations and standards
+ Experience working in multicultural, global environments
The base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
