Global Insurance is the area responsible for the strategy of the BBVA Group's insurance business, extending the concept of Strategy.

The main objective is to generate value for the group through the insurance and pensions business to generate organic and inorganic results.

Definition and implementation of the global insurance strategy in all geographical areas for all business segments, through commercial, operational, operational risk management and financial strategies, etc. for the growth of the insurance and pension business, both organically and inorganically.

Coordination of the global network, sharing best practices around products, services, technology, innovation and structuring of insurance and reinsurance solutions. Exploration, coordination and negotiation of global alliances. Definition of innovation strategy, relationship with ecosystems and geographies to promote confrontation and develop joint projects with tangible impact. Definition of metrics, methodology and strategic monitoring to provide information for business monitoring, transformation and strategic analysis. Fostering and promoting transformation projects together with Global Areas and countries focusing on the development of digital capabilities and solutions. Strategic reviews.. Collaboration with other units (Corporate Strategy / M&A, GRM, NDB ...) in the review of different topics for ad-hoc analysis.

We have the responsibility to look after the group's underwriting risks and pension schemes in the area where we have operations.

We are the internal consultant for the management of employee benefits in terms of insurance, related retirement plans, etc.

About the job:

As part of BBVA BROKER, you will play an active role in shaping and managing the strategic and global vision for insurance, ensuring comprehensive knowledge of market trends, products, and services. Your mission will be to design and implement insurance solutions tailored to the needs of BBVA’s Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) area.

Based in our London office, you will serve as BBVA BROKER’s representative for all insurance-related requirements linked to financing transactions that need to be transferred to the insurance market. You will act as a key liaison with CIB teams that utilise insurance as a tool to mitigate, distribute, and cover risks.

In addition, you will lead the relationship with insurers and brokers based in London, fostering long-term strategic partnerships. You will identify and leverage synergies between the UK and Spanish markets to support BBVA BROKER’s business strategy in this insurance field.

You will oversee the full lifecycle of insured transactions, working in collaboration with relevant teams — including Distribution, Legal, Restructuring, and Hubs — from origination through to maturity.

This role presents a unique opportunity to occupy a key position at the intersection of structured finance and the insurance market, within a dynamic and international environment.

We are seeking professionals with solid experience in structuring and placing Credit and Political Risk insurance coverage.

You should have a solid track record in structuring insurance coverage for Corporate and Investment Banking transactions and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities in engaging teams responsible for risk distribution, mitigation, and underwriting within the insurance market.

Solid negotiation capabilities with insurers are key, particularly for structuring and placing Credit and Political Risk cover in complex transactions.

Knowledge of risk mitigation instruments employed by financial institutions is highly valued.

At least 5 years of experience in the insurance sector as a broker or underwriter.Lloyd's market knowledge and Company Markets carriers.Leadership, communicative, proactive and dynamic person.Excellent interpersonal skills to establish strong relationships with the team and the insurance market.Detail-focused and commercially mindedStrategic thinker, highly adaptable and resourceful in problem solvingStrong report writing and presentation skillsHigh knowledge of Google -suite tools (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).Willingness to travel.University degree in Business Administration, Law, Economics or other equivalent.Languages; Spanish is required and a high level in English.
