Key Responsibilities: + Plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate daily plant operations and maintenance activities. + Oversee labor and materials management, ensuring efficiency and cost control. + Lead and train Plant Engineering Services staff in safety practices and effective work methods. + Manage vendor relationships, contractors, and maintenance contracts for equipment and machinery. + Provide leadership across all shifts, acting as a change agent, role model, facilitator, and coach. + Drive continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and efficiency within the department. + Report to the Senior Director or Director, ensuring an effective and well-structured organization. + Serve as an integral member of the hospital leadership team , leading department meetings, and supporting hospital events. Qualifications Qualifications: Education + High School Diploma or GED, required + Bachelor’s degree, preferred Experience + At least five years of experience in healthcare engineering and operations, required + Leadership or lead technician experience, preferred Licensure/Certification + Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), preferred Skills & Knowledge + Solid understanding of building codes, electrical codes, fire codes, and regulatory requirements (The Joint Commission, DNV, CMS, and other agencies) + Strong understanding of design, operation, and repair of mechanical, plumbing, heating, electrical, and air conditioning systems + Knowledge of hospital utility systems, including medical gases and fire alarm/fire protection systems + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings + Skilled in data analysis, organization, and presentation + Proficient in computer applications such as spreadsheets and word processing + Effective at working with physicians, administrators, directors, managers, nurses, and outside agencies + Strong leadership skills, work ethic, and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks + Ability to build and lead a self-directed work team, including a supervisor Job Opening ID 111888
