The Pharmacy Manager – Supply Chain, Automation and 340B oversees key operational functions within the inpatient pharmacy, supporting inventory management, automation and the 340B program across Akron General, Stow, Green, Bath, Lodi and Hospice locations. This operationally focused role manages day-to-day pharmacy operations, including scheduling and oversight of a team of approximately 19 FTEs across multiple sites, with some travel required and mileage reimbursed. Responsibilities include oversight of pharmacy buyers and inventory processes, annual inventory and controlled substance counts, management of automation systems such as Pyxis and oversight of medication storage equipment including refrigerators and freezers. The manager serves as the primary point of contact for onsite 340B program questions and concerns and directly supervises an analyst supporting the program. Caregivers are drawn to this role due to strong growth opportunities and a collaborative team environment focused on driving outcomes that support high-quality patient care.

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00am to 4:30pm.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Identify and meet patient needs utilizing continuous process improvement techniques. Identify and propose practical solutions to technical, professional, personnel or procedural problems affecting daily workflow. Ensure the department is adequately staffed with properly trained personnel. Establish work assignments and schedules. Participate in the development of operational and clinical program activities. Promote and develop the clinical activities of pharmacy caregivers through counseling, training and teaching. Train and instruct caregivers as to their duties. Coordinate orientation and training of new caregivers in job functions and responsibilities. Monitor financials and other pertinent statistics. Assist with evaluations of financial performance. Maintain records of narcotics, poisons, and habit-forming drugs received in accordance with state and federal laws. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible within 90 days of hire Completion of a health-system Pharmacy Administration or Leadership (HSPAL) PGY2 Residency OR four years of relevant pharmacy experience, including one year of leadership experience 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Pharmacy Degree with current state licensure MS, MBS, PharmD and/or residency 

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands include periods of standing and walking.Dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions and communication via telephone.May be required to lift and transport up to ten pounds.Requires normal or corrected vision.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
