As a Manager of Software Engineering- Java / React / Python / Distributed Computing at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset Management Technology Line of Business, you will lead multiple teams, overseeing daily implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues, and ensuring that your team's work complies with standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices. This role requires a leader who is also actively involved in coding.

Job responsibilities

Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activitiesSets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaborationAnticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirementsManages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirementsDevelops distributed systems in Java, React and Python and commits code as a hands on developer

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experienceExperience leading technology projectsExperience managing technologistsProficient in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleDemonstrated hands on experience with Java, Microservices, Springboot, and ReactHands on experience with distributed computing and data managementSprint management and delivery of global development teamAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experience
