ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leadership & Technical Excellence
Serve as senior technical resource and provide oversite to engineering teams across propertiesDevelop training programs to enhance technical competencies and foster continuous improvementEstablish and implement engineering best practices and standard operating proceduresCoordinate communication between different property elements during maintenance activities or emergenciesProvide specialized technical expertise for complex issues at multiple propertiesConstruction & Project Oversight
Monitor construction activities with regular site inspections for quality and complianceCoordinate between construction teams and operations to minimize disruptionImplement special projects across diverse property componentsManage turnover of completed construction and capital projects including inspections, commissioning, documentation, training, and warranty managementStrategic Communication
Deliver effective communications to diverse stakeholders across property componentsPresent engineering recommendations and technical information to internal/external audiencesManage expectations of varied user groups (retailers, office clients, residents, public users)Coordinate cross-component communications during maintenance or emergenciesQuality Management
Develop and enforce standards and specifications tailored to each property componentMonitor performance metrics and satisfaction levels across all property elementsAnalyze facility management data (utilities, work orders, maintenance history)Implement process improvements to enhance workplace productivityEnsure compliance with regulations and standards specific to each property typeTechnology Integration
Manage operational technologies across the property ecosystemOversee building automation systems, CMMS, and control systemsIdentify opportunities for system integration between property componentsRecommend technology enhancements to improve performance and user experienceOperations & Maintenance Management
Assess condition of structures, systems, and grounds across all property componentsOversee operations, maintenance activities, and asset lifecycle managementDevelop operational guidelines for diverse property requirementsEvaluate maintenance service delivery options (in-house vs. outsourced)Monitor system performance and user satisfaction across all property componentsFinancial & Contract Management
Develop and manage Engineering and Utilities operating budgets across all componentsOversee capital budget requirements with supporting business casesAnalyze financial documents and prepare forecasts and reportsManage service contracts including specification development, vendor selection, negotiation, and performance monitoringResolve contract disputes and vendor conflictsEmergency Preparedness
Partner with Security to support property-wide emergency preparednessDevelop component-specific emergency protocols and coordinate cross-property responseDesign and manage emergency simulation exercisesProject Management
Define and program projects including scope, schedule, budget, and requirementsDevelop specifications, administer contracts, and oversee implementationManage construction, renovation, and organizational change projectsCoordinate timing to minimize disruption across property componentsEvaluate project outcomes against established objectivesEnvironmental Leadership
Analyze utility consumption and develop sustainability initiativesImplement environmental impact programs tailored to each property componentApply LEED principles and sustainable practices across the mixed-use environmentQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum seven years' experience in facilities engineering leadership within mixed-use environmentsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Property Management, Engineering or equivalent experienceDemonstrated project management expertise, particularly in construction oversightComprehensive knowledge of building systems across different property typesExperience managing diverse property components (retail, office, residential, public spaces)Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and property management softwareExpertise in sustainability practices for mixed-use developmentsProven ability to manage multiple priorities across different property componentsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments across various property componentsRegular walking, standing, and movement throughout the working dayCapability to lift items up to 30 lbs. frequentlyAbility to occasionally push/pull equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.Physical mobility to navigate and inspect all property areas including technical spacesEstimated total compensation for this position:
