Job Overview:
The Manager of Infusion Pharmacy Services ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, fiscal accountability, and patient-centered service for the TriHealth Infusion Center Pharmacies. This position manages a team of pharmacists and technicians and oversees the day-to-day pharmacy operations. The manager will work closely with infusion center pharmacy team, nursing, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe medication processes and positive patient outcomes.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy or Pharm D (Required). Doctoral Degree Pharmacy, Pharm D, PGY-1, PGY-2 residency (Preferred).2 - 3 years Clinical (Required). 3 - 4 years Clinical (Preferred).Knowledge of 797 and 800 guidelines, Comprehensive knowledge of Ohio Board of Pharmacy regulations, Federal regulations, and Joint Commission Regulations.Oncology and IV room experience.Pharmacist Ohio Board of Pharmacy Licensure Required Other Board of Pharmaceutical specialists (BCPS) or specialty certificate PreferredJob Responsibilities:
Responsible and accountable for the overall daily operations of the Infusion Center Pharmacies. *Develops and refines workflows within the Infusion centers to assure quality, timely and efficient infusion services that meet the needs of patients. *Coordinates team member orientation, training, competency assessment, and annual performance appraisals. *Monitors team member progress and performance of daily responsibilities. Identifies team member performance problems in a proactive and timely manner and provides guidance and coaching to improve their performance. •Assess daily volumes and ensures adequate coverage across all sites. *Huddles daily with pharmacy infusion staff to address concerns and issues that arise. *Serves as the primary point of contact for operational issues, including addressing questions, investigating discrepancies, and driving resolution. *Escalates critical issues as needed and ensure effective communication with all relevant parties to resolve problems quickly and efficiently. *Provides frequent and transparent communication to team members through verbal and written communications. *Develops and maintains a positive and healthy culture within all areas of oversight. *On-call for urgent infusion center needs
Oversees and manages sterile compounding processes and hazardous drug program to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (REMS, TJC, CMS, USP 797 and 800, Ohio Board of Pharmacy). *Assures completion of staff training, competencies and education requirements regarding non-hazardous and hazardous compounding, compliance with USP Chapter 797 guidelines, and proper use and maintenance of equipment. *Ensures infusion staff follow policies and procedures for garbing PPE, hand hygiene, daily/weekly/monthly cleaning *Ensures infusion staff documents hood and room cleaning, temperatures, pressures, etc *Holds staff accountable for any areas of non-compliance • Develops and maintains standards of work and polices for the Infusion Center Pharmacies.
Maximizes efficiency and cost effectiveness of each Infusion Center Pharmacy. *Manages financial resources by preparing annual budget, reviewing monthly reports, meeting staffing and productivity goals, and monitoring/controlling expenditures to ensure the accomplishment of objectives within the approved budget. • Leads the team in identifying cost containment and cost savings initiatives. • Partners with the System Buyer and 340b Coordinator to manage purchasing, recalls, and shortages.
Performs Infusion Pharmacy pharmacist and technician staffing duties on a regularly scheduled basis.
Other Related Information:
This position is responsible for all TriHealth Infusion Center Pharmacies and requires frequent travel from site to site.
