We are seeking a Manager of Government Relations to represent KBR before Members of Congress and their staff on Capitol Hill. This role will strengthen relationships with senior executive branch officials and with key Members, Staff, and Committees on Capitol Hill, especially those responsible for Energy (DoE) and International Trade / Foreign Affairs (DoS, CoC, NSC) in a way that advances KBR’s priorities, programs, and brand. This role requires a self-starter who can manage time and multi-task effectively.

Responsibilities: Leverage your pre-existing network and the broader KBR Government Relations function’s network to advocate for support on projects and opportunities critical Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) business growthCommunicate effectively and continually with business leadership regarding ongoing Hill efforts, upcoming events, status of priorities including advocacy support and legislative language requests and other information which affects the company’s goalsEngage directly and frequently with the KBR Business Leaders to determine where Congress and federal advocacy could be leveraged to advance their programsMaximize the use and effectiveness of KBR’s suppliers, industry groups, and trade associations, as well as outside consultants, advisers, and experts, to advance KBR’s goals, priorities, and strategiesConduct analyses of legislative initiatives and policy proposals, and how these interact with executive branch policies and procedures, with a focus on broad budgetary trends and company operations, strategic planning, and interactions with the governmentMonitor congressional activities and take action to ensure company interests are protected and support visits by company leaders to Capitol HillQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in relevant field8 – 10 years of directly related professional experienceStrong working knowledge of legislative and executive branch processes, U.S. Government budget, authorization and appropriations cycles, and the of cultures and key players in eachComprehensive and proven experience working in Energy and International Relations and with appropriations issues in the U.S. CongressWell versed in working with or for government customers, decision-makers and senior officials in the legislative and executive branches of federal government and relevant governments internationallyProven success working in a team environmentDemonstrated interpersonal and communications skills (including presentation and influence) and highly competent in making effective presentations and communicating persuasively in a way that can confidently and positively shape the views and expectations of US and international governmental officials, and corporate executivesExperience managing multiple internal and external customers in a way that keeps them fully informed of progress, ongoing activities, and next stepsBelong.
