**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Employee Health and Safety Manager coordinates and implements the comprehensive Employee Health & Safety program, which is designed to promote employee wellness, maintain productivity, decrease absenteeism and promote cost containment. Develops, reviews and revises policies, procedures and practices for the Employee Health Program and South Austin Medical Center.
+ You will be responsible for all aspects of Injury Coordination/Case Management
+ You will effectively complete all requirements of the employee health & safety premium credit program
+ You will chair the Employee Safety and Security Committee
+ You will authorize, review and complete all injury reports and obtain confirmation number; facilitate and take appropriate action on all injuries and near misses as presented through the Incident Investigation Review Board
+ You will maintain appropriate database & reports
+ You will place employees in restricted duty assignments as appropriate
+ You will coordinate all appointments for follow up care; attend appointments with injured employees as needed
+ You will coordinate and work collaboratively with St. Davids’ OHS clinic
+ You will provide counseling/support regarding injuries to appropriate parties; review and submit injuries to the appropriate committees
+ You will maintain all logs/reports and communicate as required:
+ OHSA log Needle stick/BFE logs Safety/injury reports, monthly Review and report as necessary the corporate monthly and quarterly reports House Supervisor Work Status report, weekly, Joint Commission Standards Employee Health statistics and trending to Infection Prevention and Environment of Care
+ You will work collaboratively with all departments and employee health & safety related programs
+ You will manage and coordinate programs: Respiratory Mask Fit Seasonal Flu Immunization Program TB exposure follow up and annual testing per protocol You will maintain employee health files
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Healthcare provider or health and safety degree required. ADN, BSN, MSN preferred.
+ Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state required if nurse. Certification in Occupational Health (COHN) or alternative is encouraged as employee becomes eligible to test following 2 years active experience.
+ 2 years’ experience in acute care or equivalent setting required. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
