Manager Network Observability Platform and Automation

Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in infrastructure focus on designing and implementing robust, secure IT systems that support business operations. They enable the smooth functioning of networks, servers, and data centres to optimise performance and minimise downtime.

Those in network engineering at PwC will focus on designing and implementing secure and efficient network infrastructures to support organisational communication needs. Your work will involve assisting in seamless connectivity and increasing performance for client networks.

What we are looking for:

Lead observability of network services with the pro-active monitoring, alerting, and maintenance of the global network platform ensuring the performance and availability across physical locations and multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)

Lead the automation of repetitive tasks, eliminate manual efforts, and streamline workflows by developing the network as code frameworks.

Triage and troubleshoot complex network issues, ensuring high availability and performance across the network services.

Drive investigations and Problem Management (root cause analysis) facilitating continuous improvements to process and technology supporting network services.

Interact with equipment vendors regarding new software features, defects and configurations, perform validation prior to deployment to production network

Create documentation (MOPs) for change management process and SOPs for L2 teams to guide in the troubleshooting and operations of the network

Be available for escalation when on-call

What we need from you:

Knowledge of IP routing, LAN and WAN Technologies, Network Security, Layer 2 Switching technologies, Network Management Systems

5 years' experience in IP Networking - Routing, Switching, Load Balancing, RADIUS, TACACS, BGP, DNS, MPLS, OSPF, SDWAN, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto

5 years in Virtualization, SDN, NFV, Openflow, Openstack

Experience in Public and Hybrid cloud, including Azure, GCP and AWS

Experience in Network Firewalls, VPNs, IPSec, SSL and GRE tunnelling

Software-first mindset with experience with scripting languages, especially Python, and with Automation tools such as Phantom, Ansible and Terraform

Hands-on Knowledge of 4 or more of the following areas: IP Networking & Routing, SD WAN Technologies, VPNs, PaloAlto Firewalls, WAFs, DNS

Ability to conduct & inspect packet captures to analyse the network stack

Understanding and interpreting data from NPMs & Synthetic Monitoring tools such as Cilium, Calico, Thousand Eyes & DataDog

Efficient Splunk User and ability to create on-demand queries and dashboards

Experience working with CSPs, including Azure & AWS, and Multi-Cloud Networking Tools

Critical thinking & methodical approach to troubleshooting

Able to work under pressure scenarios and effectively prioritise alerts

Quick learner and able to adapt ways of working in a constantly changing environment

Splunk Certification such as Splunk Power User
