Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Manufacturing Organization is seeking a Manager 2, Manufacturing Engineering to join the Operations Engineering Leadership Team.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will become part of Northrop Grumman's Operations Engineering Leadership Team with functional management responsibilities, focused on producing world class products in the SALT (Space Auto-line Technology) and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) manufacturing cells. SALT and SMT are committed to the rapid development, manufacture, and delivery of leading-edge discriminating surface mount circuit card products, utilizing the latest technology and processing to meet or exceed customer expectations. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a team that facilitates the manufacture of CCA’s and Next Higher Assemblies (NHA’s). Primary manufacturing processes utilized are manual soldering and assembly, underfill, bonding, and environmental coatings.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Personnel management duties including supporting career development, employee engagement, time approval, staffing, yearly reviews, and all other related activitiesOversight of direct report's work on various projects developing or maintaining Manufacturing Processes within SMT and SALT, providing superior overall customer satisfaction in all casesServing as the process owner for SMT and SALT Product & Process development- including all aspects of producibility, affordability, quality, technology roadmaps, and related activitiesBrief upper management, project management and customers, as required, on process technology, product issue resolution, personnel development plans and status, organization issues/progress, etc.Work with area management, subject matter experts, suppliers, etc. (as required) to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and solve issues related to the production of SMT and SALT ProductsSupport Manufacturing Process development, including all aspects of producibility, affordability, quality, technology roadmaps, and related activitiesCollaborate with manufacturing team members to ensure clarity of quotations and deliverables as well as promote knowledge transferSupport the planning, coordinating of capital equipment and process development projects and financial budgetsThe chosen candidate will be a well-organized, enthusiastic individual with strong interpersonal and written communication skills and a passion for people, innovation, and excellence. She/he will also have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple disciplines to solve complex issues.
Basic Qualifications for the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering 2:
Bachelor’s Degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing, management, project management (or 7 or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing, management, project management with an MS degree)Experience in development of Electronic Products or Mechanical Assemblies and Manufacturing ProcessesPrior Program, People, or Project Management or Leadership experienceMust be able to obtain a Secret ClearanceUS CitizenshipPreferred Qualifications for the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering 2:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or other related STEM area Experience with microelectronics manufacturing or detailed design experienceExperience as a Process or Project LeadExperience with radar products and componentsManufacturing Engineering Management experienceKnowledge of surface mount technology and associated processesFamiliarity with J-STD, MIL-STD and Space class hardware requirementsManufacturing engineering experience including process control and control plan developmentSix Sigma Black belt/Green belt certification from an accredited programDirect career experience working in a represented manufacturing workforce environmentMANUMS
Primary Level Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
