How will you make an impact in this role?

Reporting to the Director, Compensation & Benefits EMEA, this role will support the design, governance, and execution of the company’s compensation and benefits strategy across EMEA and the UK.  The role ensures reward programs are market competitive, aligned with business priorities, compliant with local laws and continue to strengthen our Colleague Value Proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading compensation activities including market benchmarking, management of pay ranges and external requirements such as UK Gender Pay Gap and Netherlands Bonus Cap to maintain equity, competitiveness and compliance. 

Providing strategic support to business on global compensation processes including the annual compensation review and bonus cycles and compensation offers

Strategy, implementation, and ongoing management of  colleague benefits programs including retirement, healthcare and insurance, ensuring alignment with colleague needs and external market practice. Managing relationships with external benefits vendors, in line with American Express vendor governance requirements.  

Supporting the implementation of the EU Pay Transparency Directive, including conducting pay equity analyses and overseeing transparency reporting, and driving communication and change management initiatives.

Ensuring all compensation and benefits programs are compliant with relevant labor laws, tax requirements, and governance standards. Proactively monitoring regulatory changes and associated risks to meet evolving needs.

Ownership of relevant risk management activities, including risk identification, control testing and implementation of corrective actions to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and audit standards

Provide support for compensation and benefits program changes during organizational restructuring or M&A activities

Qualifications: 

Demonstrated experience in total rewards, benefits, compensation, and exposure to a broad range of compensation practices

Strategic thinker who balances long-term program design with hands-on execution

High level of interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex reward concepts in a simple and actionable manner using fact-based rationale.

Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills, ability to work autonomously with multiple stakeholders and communicate with senior leaders

Must be able to adeptly navigate a complex global matrix, and build a strong cross-function network through which to deliver effectively

Experience of managing an third party vendor relationships

English fluency is a must, but additional European languages c

ould be useful
