What We Offer This position has responsibility for managing an infection prevention program for Novant Health. Provides leadership in supporting a culture of infection prevention in identifying opportunities and initiatives to reduce and prevent infections. Coordination among leaders and operations and clinical support personnel will enhance system reliability and improve infection prevention processes and outcomes. These activities involve reporting, process evaluation, formulation of recommendations and initiatives, coordination of intervention strategies, and monitoring of activities related to infection prevention. What We're Looking For Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. RN, or Medical Technologist or other Healthcare related field. Graduate Degree, preferred. In related field. Experience: Minimum five years as Infection Preventionist, required. Minimum three years previous leadership experience, required. Licensure/Certification: Current RN license, or eligible for RN license if RN, required. American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification or eligible for if Medical Technologist, required. Certification through Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC), required. Additional Skills (required): Ability to lead teams and manage an organized work effort; awareness of current and future trends in Infection Prevention and healthcare; ability to understand, report and manage the IP department personnel to maintain the facility infection prevention program and to respond to critical issues in a timely and complete manner; ability to work under deadlines and heavy workloads. Relationship management skills that include excellent listening and consultative abilities, as well as the ability to establish credible relationships with facility leaders to drive change. Strong critical thinking skills. Implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes. Teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills. Understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations. Expertise in Microsoft Office Products. Current and future trends/practice/requirements in healthcare associated infection identification and reporting.
