Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to drive supply chain excellence in the form of increased customer service at the lowest cost to serve. The Manager will be empowered to meet the goals set forth by the Supply Chain organization. It is an ideal position for an individual who values ownership and aspires to help lead a team in pursuit of reaching and exceeding departmental and divisional goals.
Job Description:
In addition to their mill responsibilities, the Manager will have responsibility for providing front-line mentoring for team members with special attention on communication, system training, process training, schedule/trimming review, and problem solving. The Manager is accountable for production planning processes and problem solving as an operational subject matter expert.
The Manager will ensure the workload is balanced across all team members so that work is completed in a timely manner. They will coordinate team activities and ensure on-time completion. They will give feedback for individual development meetings and annual performance evaluations as well as provide coaching to team members.
Key Priorities:
Lead supply chain team by exhibiting all Smurfit Westrock valuesManage assigned mills and provide mentorship for team members Partner with mill leadership stakeholders to support mill optimization and cost take out initiativesDrive team to achieve supply chain goals, objectives, and transformation initiativesEstablish best practices for the team by building documented and effective processes (SOP’s)Own on-boarding and/or training for employeesCoach and mentor all team members for growth and developmentActively participate in the development of new team members. Serve as a mentor and coordinate integration in their new roleImprove team environment by helping to create an engaging culture (within team and between departments)Support all team members through daily activities and roadblocks as they ariseAssist in identifying and providing assistance where needed for Cost Take Out or Continuous Improvement projectsMonitor Key Process Indicator (KPI) metrics; Recognize and drive improvement opportunitiesEmploy data-based decisions when problem solvingSupport in the transformation of systems and standard processesOther duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education/Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service and/or Manufacturing experience is mandatory. Previous experience working in a highly complex environment is desirable.
