Job Overview
The Business Unit Industrial and Commercial Transportation (ICT) has an opportunity for a Manager (m/w/d) - Field Application Engineering (FAE).
The Mgr. FAE leads a team of field application engineers in Europe who support customers with technical expertise and application know-how during design-in and product integration process to drive project wins and enable future sales growth.
The position is focusing on eMobility, Data-Connectivity and potentially further selected product lines in future (i.e. KISSLING Relays and Switches).
This role serves as a critical interface between the company’s external customers and internal teams and is addressed to high potential candidates interested in a first step to a managing role or experienced managers with focus on technology and trends in commercial transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor and manage a regional team of Field Application Engineers. Establish goals, performance metrics and training plans to ensure team excellence. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback and guidance. Customer Support & Technical Interface Drive engagement with customers to identify their technical needs and present our solutions. Support complex technical issues, system integration and design-in activities. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships aligned with Sales to ensure high satisfaction and retention. Cross-functional Collaboration Act as a bridge between Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and Business Development. Coordinate and provide customer feedback and field insights to guide product development and roadmaps. Participate in workshops, support go-to-market strategies and new product introductions. Technical Expertise Stay current on industry trends, competitor technologies, and emerging innovations. Train and educate internal and external stakeholders on our product and how to apply. Reporting Monthly report out incl. team´s KPI´s. Track opportunities, ensure follow-up for the product groups in charge. Collect and streamline voice of customer and voice of sales in a structured way
Qualifications
Min. Bachelor’s degree in in Business/Commercial field with relevant experience or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred) 5+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering, Sales, Engineering or Technical Support. Experience in team leadership is a benefit. Strong technical background with experience in market (i.e. Commercial Vehicle or Automotive or Transportation) or product (i.e. Connectors or High-voltage or Data-Connectivity, Relays, Sensors or other electro-mechanical product). Excellent interpersonal, customer-facing, and communication skills Able to motive others and work in a team Experience in CRM (i.e. Salesforce) is a plus Willingness to travel up to 25–40%. English is a must, other multilingual skills a benefit.
Work Environment
