We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX.

Manager, Experimental Build

Bring your ideas and experience to collaborate with engineering design teams and lead the construction of experimental parts, test articles, assemblies, and aircraft. This position supervises a dedicated team of engineers and shop floor employees, fostering a culture of execution and innovation. By ensuring precision and producibility, this role drives innovation and efficiency within the company. Your leadership will be crucial in evaluating and implementing new processes and techniques, significantly contributing to Bell's success.

What you’ll be doing as a Manager, Experimental Build

Partner with engineering design teams to shape designs by providing producibility input from concept thru detail designPartner with rotorcraft performance engineers to develop and execute rotor download testing preventing an over or under-designed aircraftManage both experimental design engineers and shop floor employees. Anticipated work-split is 70% engineering partnerships and 30% shop floor executionLead the organization to establish a culture of execution and innovation in exercising engineering methods to evaluate new processes and techniques for building complex experimental components and assemblies including using new technology, tools, and tooling capabilitiesDrive communication and foster inclusion across and within RP (Air Vehicle Build, External Manufacturing, Mirabel, Tooling) and RPC (composites manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, and engineering teams)Responsible for establishing, executing and overseeing planning and builds for detail parts and assemblies for risk reduction, PV, DT, and experimental aircraft

What you need to be successful

Bachelor’s degree with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Materials Science Engineering.8 years of engineering design experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense industry requiredRelated degrees with relevant experience will be considered.Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.Previous supervisor or leadership experience in a union-covered shop, preferred.Experience in Catia V4/V6 and GDT application, preferred.
