The Environmental & Sustainability Manager will be responsible for creation and execution of environmental and sustainability policies that align with the organization’s goals and regulatory requirements
Day to Day:
Develop long-term environmental strategies and set measurable targetsTrack and assess the effectiveness of environmental and sustainability initiatives and policiesUse data to prepare detailed reports for stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory bodiesEnsure the organization complies with all relevant environmental and sustainability regulations and standards.Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to identify areas for improvementsWork with internal teams and external partners to promote environmental and sustainability goalsEngage with suppliers, customers, and the community to support environmental and sustainability initiativesManage and maintain environmental permits, including air quality, waste management, stormwater and wastewater dischargeIdentify opportunities for efficiency improvements and implement best practicesDevelop training programs to increase employee awareness and engagement in environmental and sustainable practicesFoster a culture of environmental and sustainability responsibility within the organizationLead Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects that align with the organization’s environmental and sustainable goalsPromote the organizations commitment to social and environmental responsibilityStay updated on new legislation and advancements in the field of environmental and sustainability, adapting policies as necessary to maintain complianceAssists in planning, organizing, and controlling environmental and sustainability budgetAssumes responsibility for professional development through participation in continuing education offerings that maintain and update knowledge of ESG/ GHG practices and protocolsAssist in development of corporate annual sustainability reportsOther duties as assigne
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Sustainability, or equivalent field experience required.Extensive experience in environmental management, sustainability, or a related field, typically 5-7 years.Proven track record of developing and implementing successful environmental strategies.Knowledge in 40 CFR (Environmental Regulations) and 49 CFR (DOT Regulations).Knowledge in ISO 14001 preferred.Experience in filing regulatory environmental reports.Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability best practices.Analytical skills to evaluate environmental performance and identify areas for improvement.Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Project management skills to oversee environmental initiatives.Passion for sustainability and commitment to driving positive change.Maintain confidentiality, a must.
