As the Manager of Engineering, you will be leading a team of engineers that is responsible for building store partner facing applications and customer facing digital display experiences. The Fulfill and Manage Orders engineering team designs, builds and supports the engine that provides best-in-class order fulfilment services and applications while delivering delightful experiences to partners and customers.

The products you and your team build will be used by store partners across the globe and create delight for customers visiting our stores. You will be instrumental in shaping the team's culture, driving technical strategy, and collaborating with cross-functional leaders to deliver an exceptional product. Required Qualifications

•                    Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on web or mobile applications.

•                    Minimum of 4+ years of experience in directly managing a team of engineers.

•                    5+ years of hands-on experience building and supporting modern web applications using React or Angular

•                    Hands on development experience with at least one modern programming language, preferably C# or GO

•                    Proven track record of shipping high-quality, consumer-facing applications with a strong focus on UI/UX and performance.

•                    Demonstrated ability to lead technical architecture/design discussions and to drive technical decision-making.

•                    The ability to track and drive meaningful metrics

•                    A thoughtful, empathetic approach to leadership and collaboration.

•                    Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

What you’ll be doing…

Leadership – Setting goals for the team, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together

Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results

Technical Design and Implementation – Providing technical expertise and executing technical responsibilities

Partner Development and Team Building – Providing partners with coaching, feedback, developmental opportunities, and building effective teams

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
