Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineering directorate is seeking a Manager Electro-Optics who can lead a section of Electro-Optical/Opto-Mechanical professionals responsible for all elements of Electro-Optical Engineering Design through all lifecycles to include but not limited to development, transition to production, design verification, qualification, and Production support.

What You Will Do:

You will supervise and lead a team of approximately 12-20 members.  You will establish meaningful and measurable goals and communicate effectively with your team to ensure alignment with the department and directorate.  You will conduct formal and informal performance reviews and career development discussions with team members.  You will be expected to lead by example while adhering to and ensuring alignment with our Values and Behaviors: Trust, Respect, Collaboration, Innovation, and Accountability.  The Section Lead role is anticipated to be approximately 10% of the work week, with the remainder of the work week charged to program contracts, within the organization.   

As a part of this role, you will collaborate with multi-discipline teams in the operation, testing, and troubleshooting of systems.  You will provide independent health checks by evaluating program’s metrics.  You will interact with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Cross Product Team/Directorate Leads, as well as other functional management to drive results to achieve program and business unit objectives.  You will support EO Engineering team's hiring goals as well as lead the onboarding of new section personnel.  

This role will require the ability to work on-site in Tucson, AZ.  

Qualifications You Must Have: 

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of Ten (10) or more years of professional engineering design and/or delivery Experience in electro-optic subsystems, opto-mechanical design, or optical design.Experience in mechanical or optical design and design documentation.Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar budget tracking system The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
