Our teams in Milpitas and Alameda, CA currently have an opportunity for a Manager, Embedded Electrical Systems. In this role, you will lead and manage electrical engineers in the design, development, and troubleshooting of critical electrical systems. You will guide the team in identifying, recommending, and implementing significant and complex improvements or new embedded electrical technologies that meet regulatory requirements. The position may involve overseeing multiple engineering initiatives, developing strong cross‑functional partnerships, and providing clear, effective communication to Senior Management.

Lead a team of electrical engineers in the design and development of electronics and firmware for battery-powered wireless embedded systemsCommunicate effectively to senior leadershipLead programs and cross-functional development teamsCreate career development programs for the team and develop medium-term planning for the growth of the processManage resource allocation and budgeting for the functionDevelop sensitive, low noise, and low-power analog circuitsDesign RF wireless technologies including RF and inductive antenna designEMC/EMI design and testing per regulatory standardsDesign circuits and PCB layouts including DFM and DFTDevelop electrical and product requirements and specifications, design FMEAs, and V&V test protocolsTest, characterize, and verify electrical designsSystem modelingEnsure that electrical design and test equipment meet applicable industry and medical device standardsWrite and submit Engineering Change Orders into our product life cycle documentation systemComply with all applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and perform other duties as assigned by the Management TeamRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering12 yrs experience in design engineering and at least 3 years of engineering management experience.Effectiveness in lead and manage engineering teamsMastery of fundamental Electrical Engineering principlesExcellence at engineering design and analysis of embedded electrical systemsExperience with real-time operating systems; freeRTOS, etc.Experience with battery powered devicesFluency in hardware and PCB design and experience in firmware developmentUnderstanding of processes used in the design and manufacture medical devices, particularly sensitive, low noise, low-current, wireless devicesWorking knowledge in writing product requirements and design specificationsExcellence in written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications
Experience with embedded microcontroller designs in medical devicesIntegrated circuit specification and application in low power designs experienceFirmware development using C, C++, C#, etc.System modelingExperience in medical device developmentExperience with wireless systems (NFC, BLE, Cellular), ultra-low power analog designThe base pay for this position is $148,700.00 – $297,300.00.
