**Job Summary and Qualifications**
POSITION GOAL:
To maintain an efficient, safe and pleasant work environment. To assist the VP Diagnostic Imaging and affiliated Physicians and Radiologist in providing quality, efficient care for patients. To develop and supervise a quality improvement program. To monitor all aspects of care in the Medical Imaging Facility. This includes but not limited to Diagnostic imaging with X-Ray, CT scanning, Nuclear medicine, Mammography, Ultrasound and MRI, quality control, transportation, radiation safety support and other related duties. The Manager will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to all ages of patients including pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
License / Certifications / Requirements
Current Licensure or permit to practice Radiography via Texas Medical Board(TMB) and (ARRT). Current BLS required.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers. (ARRT)
Experience:
Minimum five (5) years experience in a Medical Imaging facility. Extensive clinical experience in Diagnostic Imaging. Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience. Bachelors Degree preferred.
Special Qualifications
Good organization skills, excellent interpersonal/service skills. Possess knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to age and physical condition of the patient served including (a) Knowledge of growth and development over the life span (b) Ability to assess and interpret data needed to identify each patient's
requirement relative to his/her age specific needs (c) Ability to perform diagnostic imaging with consideration of the physical condition of the patient (d) Ability to provide age appropriate communication with patients and significant others. Outside Relationships: Personal contact with patients and visitors to the Medical Imaging Department. Active membership in professional societies and organizations relating to Medical Imaging.
Budget/Assets Controlled: Diagnostic X-ray Equipment, CT Scanners, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Portable X-ray, Dictation equipment and routine accessories. staffing expenses, routine expenses and recommends purchases for new or replacement equipment.
DEGREE OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED
Involves general guidance and direction by the Department Director. The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
